My doggie loves to run with the four-wheeler!

Roseburg grafitti weekend

We went to a huge classic car show in southern Oregon this weekend.
This isn't a classic car, but...

I'm hungry

I could use some guacamole and a couple tacos.

Me and the doggie on Piker's Peak

You can see Mt. Hood in the background. We are about 1000 feet above Mt. Hood.

Taking a break on the way up

View on the way up

The views weren't the best in the morning while the clouds were out. I couldn't have imagined much better.

Crampons, ice ax, and helmet equipped.

The weather was a little crazy. Megan and I could see clouds rolling
in and nearly white out conditions within minutes.

Matt grubbin out

Dinner

Megan and I made pitas with hummus, veggies, and falafel the first night. Jocelyn and Matt made awesome pizza pitas and pita s'mores the next night. I also put away about a half pound of beef jerky in my spare time. You get hungry up there, and I'm no stranger to a high calorie diet.

Little camp stove

Our awesome camp stove let's us cook a hot meal at 8500 feet.

At camp with the doggie.

I won't get far on this blog without pics of my doggie. This is her at
camp. This was just below the tree line.

Up the South Climb trail

Onward

We headed up the South Climb trail.

Megan and Jocelyn are checking out the view. Jocelyn hiked up with her snowboard.

Red algae

This is red algae that grows in the snow.

Matt skiing up the mountain

Matt skiied most of the way up the mountain. He has been skiing 97 times this year.

Here's my pack.

I picked up this pack for a trip to the Rocky Mountains with Mike F.
That was about fourteen years ago. This is the first time Ive carried
an ice ax, helmet, or crampons. Those crampons look like a torture
tool, and they worked great. Coincidence?

Thanks Matt and Jocelyn!

Matt and Jocelyn took us up to Mt. Adams and we'd surely be dead if it wasn't for them. They're rock stars at this mountaineering thing. Their dogs, Dylan and Marley went as well.

Thanks again guys!

The Skipper's insurance being voided

The Skipper is riding a four wheeler. It has nothing to do with Mount Adams, but it sure was fun.
